Food in History, Singapore – since 2009, is a permanent exhibition at the Bollywood Food Museum – currently Bollywood Farms in Kranji. In agreement with Ms Ivy Sing-Lim, the facility’s owner, I researched and created within two months, and in 2009 curated this exhibition of 24 acrylic paintings (120x90cm). They depict the history of food as a cultural process of hunting, harvesting, and food preparation, highlighting samples with details from different continents and countries. This exhibition was meant for children and adults to learn about the variety and history of food through visually appealing and compelling presentations. With access to the farms in Kranji and text materials, it offers the possibility to educate about the origins of food, cultural differences, and shared all possible aspects connected with it. The bright open space offers an opportunity for educational talks and art workshops and classes as well as cooking classes in the attached kitchen.
